Two Virginians elected to LNC

Jim Lark

Portland, OR - July 5, 2006 - The Libertarian
Party of Virginia will be well-represented on the Libertarian National
Committee during the 2006-2008 term. Jim Lark (who lives in Pulaski
and Earlysville) and Steve Damerell (who lives in Reston) were
elected to the position of representative and alternate representative,
respectively for the newly constituted LNC Region 6. The elections
took place on July 1 during the LP national convention in Portland,
Oregon.
Region 6 consists of the Libertarian Parties of Delaware, the
District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
Dr. Lark will be serving his fourth term on the LNC. He
served as chairman of the LP during the 2000-2002 term, and served
as the Region 5E representative during the 2004-2006 term. He
has also served as an at-large member of the LNC.
He has held many positions in the LPVa; he currently serves as
the Ninth Congressional District Committee chairman, the Local
Affiliate Parties Committee chair, and the campus outreach coordinator.

Steve Damerell

Mr. Damerell will be involved with the LNC for the first time
during this term. He is the immediate past chair of the LPVa,
serving from August 2003 until April 2006. He worked as a
member of the Libertarian Party headquarters staff prior to his
service as LPVa chairman.
Dr. Lark and Mr. Damerell join fellow LPVa member Bill Redpath
on the LNC. Mr. Redpath, who lives in Leesburg, was elected
chairman of the LP during the national convention. (Please
